We can cut some for you for you of what I did for Dave. Would you like some for the rest of the plane too? I just need some dims that you could easily supply for me. Here is the pic of the ones I just made for my 125" MXS project. I just put two holes per horn so that the inner holes work for the tail surfaces an inboard aileron servos an the outside hole will be for the outer aileron. Obviously there is a base plate that joints the horns ala arf style. I also make rudder tiller horns in any width you may need.

If you ever want horns All I need is the dimension from the center of the mounting block to the center of the hinge line (reach) an from the mounting surface to the holes (height). They are CNC cut so I can get down to the gnats ass.

Thanks Terry,

I am going to put together some sizes. Does the new PAU Viper come with these or are they the control horn bolts from 1984?

LOL, I did not win that battle, they are threaded 1984 bolts. I have some tips for you on that when you get one and want to set it up we'll talk. They are nice because they are infinitely adjustable for matching geometry.

Nothing wrong with threaded bolts! Although I told DUBRO, let's make some aluminum clevises!

Agreed, one of the things I've been experimenting with on the PAU ones is putting a ball link in the aluminum clevis. Works great as long as you use a nylock nut to keep the clevis from rotating once you have the geometry set. Same thing with the standard Dubro one's though, if you don't lock the part that threads onto the stud you will have trim issues after violent maneuvers as they will turn slightly on the stud.

I had and edge for a short while and had nothing but problems with those things. Almost lost the plane twice. I will not be using them even if I have to take covering off and do some serious modifications. Honestly I would have gotten a PAU plane many times over since then but that wa just a deal breaker. The Viper will be modified:)

I like 'em "BIG"!

A little epoxy on the threads and those babies ain't goin' nowhere. Although I do like the alternative much better, the bolts seem to be holding up quite nicely on the 260. I'm going to need to add a set of horns to each aileron and each elevator on the Yak. Thankfully, Tony sent me a full compliment of what I needed.

I went threw a bottle of Loctite on the little screws and then the wood compressed and the threaded rod was wobbling in the hole. I had major flutter twice. I finally got it to hold but it really soured my taste for it. The plane is nice but the geometry and hardware is way outdated imho.
