Cutting grass now. When I get off the mower I will weigh the batts and check where the balance is. My batts though are mounted inside the motor box. I can get to them easy with the canopy off. Basically I cut two notches in the top of the motor box. Velcro strap passes through them and straps them inside the motor box. I can have them in and out of the plane in less than a minute.

Checking the manual for my suk shows it balancing on the center of the wing tube. Don't have an exact weight on my batts but a similar one online shows it weighing just shy of 5oz so about 10oz total for both. I can actually say as well I had to make steel standoffs for my engine to help as well with balance. Think they added a total of 6oz to the nose. And I only did that so I wouldn't have to remove the cowl and mount the batts all the way up there.

The two 3000ma 2S receiver packs I got for it weigh 10.2 oz together. I got the "sliding" battery tray installed per the owners request so when it comes time to balance 4-6 oz probably going to be needed up front. Thanks for your help brother.

This bird has been sitting in the corner most of the summer with a broken motor mount. Basically I had a bad epoxy joint between the firewall and the big piece of tristock behind it. Old has been removed and new tristock is glued in. Also this time it has a couple of screws holding it everywhere it needs to be. Needed this bird ready for the fun fly at my club tomorrow. No time to paint it right now as I gots other things to get ready.

Ok it looks like you have your fair share of profile planes. This one looks like a 30cc size is that correct. Can you show more of it. Thanks.

It's a 55cc edge. I will take a bunch of pics of it at the field tomorrow. I love profiles.

I made some more progress on the Ryan. I glued in the control surfaces. I added the white trim pieces. Then I went for some white paint on the cowl. I made a pretty big mess with the spray paint as I was trying to get it nicely into a cup to use an airbrush. I was able to get some splatter onto the side of the fuselage. It is Lustrecote. Anyone know how to get it off without ruining anything? Otherwise, I will be removing that section of covering and putting a new piece on. Overall, it's starting to look finished!

Rained out at work today so I figured it would be a good day to take care of a couple of things in the hangar. I actually only got one thing accomplished. And I blame it on the deep burning desire to take a mid day nap. Who knew when we were younger that we would enjoy naps so much? LOL. I did however get the baffling on the Behemoth Yak (2) redesigned. At Tri-Cities, the forward lower deflector started coming loose and really was not holding as I wanted it to. Also, the top "bell" intake baffle that forces the air down through the cylinders of the 4 cylinder red headed beast was pushing away. Up into the top of the cowl actually. So I added a support across the top of the top baffle to keep it from losing its shape. Then trimmed it back a little to allow it to sit just behind the top deflector. I then placed/hot glued a support under the top deflector to keep the top baffle into position. This looks like it will work much better. As for the lower baffle and deflector, I redesigned it a little and added a small "wedge" in front of the lower portion of the front cylinders. The lower baffle deflector now comes up and meets it and seals off any precious air that could otherwise escape through it before reaching the front of the engine. Looking forward to taking the big Yak out again before the end of the season.

Over the next couple of days I am going to get the cowl back on the Pilot Edge. I also need to shrink some covering on the right wing. I spoke with Dolly (Tony's right hand) at Pilot RC today. My replacement left wing panel is built and should be covered at the time of this post. It along with the replacement canopy for the big yak will be shipped out Monday. Sweet, I will have the Pilot Edge ready to fly again in just a couple of short weeks. I am so excited.

Yes, Top Flight Trim Solvent. It will take the Lustrecoat off without damaging your covering. Use it sparingly. A little goes a-looooooong way.

Got the wires stuffed in and all electronics working properly except for the elevator and aileron servos. Will get that done over the next few days and hopefully the ZAP560 and u-trim will be here so I can finish the cowl and canopy. Don't have "snakeskin" so I made the best of the few miles of spiral wrap that was tossed my way. Poor mans Bling .
