The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Gear all done at the moment (will be recessing it). Took it for a spin around some telephone poles and did some hooptie loops spins and torque rolls. Oh!!!! Did I mention it takes off and lands slick as ??? Yes sir re it do!!!. Of course I did a gazillion touch and go's .

I had moved the battery back about an inch from where I normally had it and the plane felt the same in the air. Stock gear weighs 3.3 ounces. New gear weighs 5.7 ounces.

Got it all wrapped up tonight. Switched to 3mm hex screws ( did not have blind nuts for the 2mm). Took some careful digging but got all that poly (hard and soft) out and the LG plate in. Nice to have this one done .

The finished job looks good and it will take some work to break that one out. Why is it most of us are always working on landing gear. And it does not matter from whom or size landing gear is a constant pain in the ******* for all of us jetpainter just rebuilt his landing gear and so have I.

@Snoopy1 History always repeats itself. Landing gear issues always seem to be present no matter what kind of plane you got or the time period of the plane . The good news is the after market availability to find what you really need for that certain plane is abundant.

I think it's some sort of CONSPIRACY! .

Looks great! I'm motivated to do the same to mine.

Thank you! A dremel cut off wheel and a large exacto chisel blade ( and modelers files) is what I used to carve it out.

You wouldn’t be trying to tell me that my landings are bad. All my landings are picture perfect the wheels just seem to fall off. And that is a fact.

You gentleman keep telling me about TaildraggerRC. So I decided to give it a try well up to now all I can say there stuff looks great bought some wires to go into the wings and they are truly top notch will do that again, got some gas tank fittings they look good to. Prompt service got what I needed what more can a person ask for.
