I ordered a canister with two manifold inlets from Germany for my DA70, I made the manifolds to the same volume each to see if it would change the performance. It did not. But everyone at my flying field said that it seemed quite. I took a DB reading and it was almost the same as most canisters but for some reason it seem to be not as loud, it has no "bark" to it. I normally put canisters on everything as I like quite motors. This RCGF 70cc will be my first with out and just stock mufflers. I did that for weight, I really wanted this plane light. If it seems to loud for me at the field later I will put a canister on it.

It would be nice to meet you snoop!! Want field do you fly at?
I fly at a field about 2 km from a small town called Selkirk. Many years ago we had 56 members then over the years it has dropped down to 3. We kept is open and going and over last three years we are up to 14 members. It is coming back slowly. It is fully sanctioned field by Maac. The name is “South Haldimand Skyhawks”

@-Rick- what would be interesting is to take the carburetor from the new engine and install it on the DA to see if it changes anything.
I don’t like messing with a good running engine, but still an interesting thought. Maybe some day.

Well it is a lot of work doing the full layout for this fancy delta wing snow/sea plane. Been at it for almost a full week and still not done. Every time I look at a particular detail I say I can make that easier or lighter or better and just keeps getting more complicated in the fine details. Just have to do all the servo mounting plates and geometry. Will also have to come up with a way how to join several parts to make one side.
@BalsaDust have you ever made a single part out of several standard sheets sizes (3-36) so they fit together and make a good glue joint. If anyone else has done it your help will be appreciated.

I did it for the sheeting on my 20cc Giles profile. I will find the files and post some images of it.

Sorry I keep going back to the idle problem you have. Just in general the smaller the carburetor venture is the better the idle and the better it runs on the bottom end. It would be interesting to know how venture of the two engines compare.

Looks exciting been looking for a biplane. Looked around and found nothing. Can you give some clue were to look.

Nick mentioned Extreme Flight. Below is a video and photos of a larger Muscle Bipe which should be out soon.

Give me a few days and I will see if I can measure both. I had a EME 60 that ran prefect. I could start it with one flip at the field. I crashed that motor and broke a lug from it. Maybe I will try to put that card on the DA70 just to give it a try later this summer.

Hopefully it makes the DA work for you, nothing to lose.
