Maidened the Precision Aerobatics Extra MX today. All went well except I hit a chug hole on the first landing and knocked off a wheel pant. It was an easy fix. Plane flys great and is small enough to fly at the local park.

Well, my weekend started out on the wrong foot. I had been looking at buying a plane in NC for a GREAT price and I had been in contact with the seller quite a few times. The seller told me he would hold the plane to let me drive down and look at it and that he was in no real hurry to sell the plane. When I texted him on Saturday morning to find out when he was going to be home his response was "I'm sorry, but I've decided to sell the plane to someone else".

Now, I fully realize that a person has the right to sell something to anyone they want to, but doing it like this is a little unethical (I'm trying to be polite). Needless to say, this ruined my weekend. . . . . :(

BTW In case you're wondering Rob, this is the same deal I was telling you about. I should have known it was too good to be true.

Got about 2hrs worth of flying in today! Now that the tourists/cruise ships are gone we get our flying field back. Pretty happy to get some much needed flying in.
The lower pic is of a buddies Maxford USA trainer, that use to have a fuji gas engine on it. The plane weighed so much he dubbed it the MAXTURD, he later pulled the engine and put a saito 180 on it... so I had to ask... SO is this plane now the MAXSlimyTURD!?!?!? lol!!! talk about glow fury. He had an equipment glitch and the plane went into the trees to it's grave.

I took Miss Moana to the field today, unfortunately I didn't get to fly it. The last time I had it out it flooded when trying to start it the first time. After changing the plug it ran absolutely beautifully.

Today, while choking it for the first start, it started and ran way longer than normal with the choke on. We did get it started with the choke off, but it was horribly rich and it took a lot of nursing to get it to clean out and run wide open. When I brought it back to an idle it went dead rich and would barely run again and finally died and was so flooded it wouldn't restart.

All and all it was a lousy weekend at the Flying field.

The most important thing is that it all went home in one piece but just a little frustrated.

Man, still can't get over what a beautiful plane and paint job. Especially in that photo. Gorgeous!
