Thank you gentlemen, just got back from Sea Isle City, NJ, trip cut a little short, my wife broke her arm in a bicycling accident, will see the ortho doctor on Monday, guessing will need surgery to get things lined up. Got a shipment from McMaster Carr that I ordered while there, 12" square wire woven mesh to make the air inlet screen. Ordered black pin stripe for the wing fairings as well, it's here somewhere, got to go through the mail.

My wife is from NJ, her grandparents lived on sea isle, her brother owns a house there now. I've been there many times.

First time there, very nice place, not quite open yet, too early. My friends daughter was married on the beach today, we had to leave early however. Driving through Philly is a pain!

Sorry to read this news. Best wishes for her speedy recovery!
I hope so, looks like I will be doing the home domestic chores for a while, will cut into my building time, got some laundry to do already!

Sorry-to hear about your wife, hope she gets better soon. I know the feeling my mom broke her hip last Tuesday it has been back and forth to the hospital.

Thank you Snoop.
Got a little domestic work complete and squeezed some Champ work. Located the 1/2" black pin stripe that I had ordered. Applied to the aluminum fairing pieces and installed. There is no standard for this seal piece, some planes have it as I installed while some have none. I may remove the bottom and leave the top, it will protect the fabric from the sharp aluminum edge. Will decide once wings are installed.

I bought two canopies from the supplier a while ago. I suspect the buck was the original from RCM plans service back in the early 90's, it was OK but not what I was looking for here. I cast a buck the original canopy out of Ultracal 30 and then glassed it and made repairs to the areas needing it. I pulled a canopy and it had little water marks for lack of a better description and the glass cloth telegraphed through onto the canopy. I have since learned the water marks were due to moisture in the plastic and you must hold the PETG at 170f for a while to drive off the moisture. Apparently using glass cloth on vacuum form bucks is a problem so a lesson learned as well. Need to make a new plaster buck. I'm going make a fiberglass mold of the repaired buck the cast a new plaster buck from the mold. I sprayed the PVA on the buck this afternoon. The PVA is over 30 years old, was left over from a project at work, still good? I hope so!

You and me both. I hope it is repaired for the last time. I attempted pulling a .040" polycarbonate sheet over the plug and damage the plug and the plastic sheet frame, tuff stuff, have 5 24" x 32" sheets that I'm not sure what I will do with. I may try the pull again after I get a good PETG canopy, don't know. The failed part was very strong, don't believe it would crack in use, had high hopes for it.
I put a coat of epoxy resin mixed with carbon on the plug yesterday evening and have 3 layers of 6 ounce cloth over it now. I think one more layer of 6 ounce and it will be done.
On the way to the doctors now.
