Here's a little progress of the repair process... Original Hysol on the canopy After 800 grit sandpaper to remove the epoxy after 1200 grit After 2000 grit After the coarse plastic polish Final results after final plastic polish It looks better in real life and there are still a few...

    Canopy Refurbishment/Repair

I did test the process last night and it looks like it will work great! I have some really fine sandpaper used for sharpening my wood planes (the kind you pops have wood with...not the kind you fly). So I started with 800 grit, then f Went to 1200, then 2000, then Mint like @Pistolera said....I...

    Canopy Refurbishment/Repair

Now that's just cruel Earle! If I do the whole canopy can I reduce the time back down to your original estimate since it'll just be one spot again?

    Canopy Refurbishment/Repair

Good report...not an easy operation...but good to know! Definitely cheaper than a new canopy and frame shipped from Germany. Did I mention there may be more than 1 or 2 spots...

    Canopy Refurbishment/Repair

I think that could work in general...but Hysol is quite flexible so it'll probably enjoy the message and stay put! But I will try it!

    Canopy Refurbishment/Repair

Let's just say you had a canopy that had some light scratches and perhaps some Hysol on the surface...just a hypothetical, it didn't happen to me or anything  Is it possible to sand those areas to remove the epoxy and scratches, and then buff those sandpaper scratches out or do you just...

Smaller trailers for 40% + sized Giants!

It weighs just under 1000 lbs. my BMW. 135 barely notices it is back there...but it is rear wheel drive which helps...and the 300 HP, 300 ft-lbs of torque doesn't hurt either. But if you think about 1000 lbs it s similar to having 4 big people in the car so it isn't that much really. I think...

    IMAC Delro 2.5M Raven Build

I basically answered my own question after asking the question...which Is that I feel it is wise, if not necessary, to isolate the canister from the electronics...just seems safer to me. I'll post pics as I go through the process so you can see what I've done.

    IMAC Delro 2.5M Raven Build

I've got a question for y'all...I am not sure whether I need to build a divider (false floor) into the Raven to separate the canister and engine heat from the electronics in the fuselage. It obviously adds some weight, but cuts down on heat build-up on the electronics bay which seems like a...

Favorite Feature: the awesome dedication of Bart and Sleepy! You guys have given endlessly to this site! Least favorite feature: I don't really have one as the site works smooooth! But since I have to, I do most of my surfing in an iPad and it can be a little hard to pick from the sub-menu line...
