    AMA and Multirotors

You got that right! And think when I started PAU, we got nasty comments from AMA for a photo of our Ultimate touching the bottom tip of the rudder on the runway!

    PAU 30% Sukhoi SU-26 ARF 50-60cc

Really? We have not hat this issue on the Sukhoi. On this type of plane, there cannot be a one piece landing AND a canister tunel. It is one or the other... I flew mine for a couple of years, and never bent the gear or had ant gear plate issue. Of course, if landing are often hard, something...

    AMA and Multirotors

I have to disagree with some of the above posts: All dissensions cited in the analogies above have to do with the inner circles INSIDE the aero modeling community not always accepting each other. The real issue with "drones"/FPV/GPS guidance/multirotors is the negative attention they are drawing...

This is done flying for a while

10,400 MaH the way I fly can probaly last 10 flights, and even more with the new Hitec 9380 I am installing right now (they use less power). The way Gaby, Spencer, or Dean fly, that can probably past 5 or 6 flights. Since last year, I started running everything High voltage via Smartfly power...

He had charged several batteries, and was down to the last one. He stepped away for a few minutes to get something in the house, and that is when the fire started.

Yes, that is what I use: two 5200 MaH packs for the receiver, and one 2600 MaH for the ignition.

I don't know, I have not spoken to him: I got the info from our Hawaii club email today. I met him when he visited his dad in Hawaii. The fire happened in the San Diego area. This guy was quite experienced with LiPos. This is just a reminder: I remember reading a couple or years ago that Curtis...

My friend son just lost his shop due to a fire. Thankfully, only material damage, and no one hurt. He is not a beginner, and has been using LiPos for many years. This is precisely why I do not use them unless I have no choice. I have no choice in electric powered airplanes. I have many safer...

    36% PAU Edge 540T

I use pull pull. Gaby used to set everything up with push pull, but his current 100cc Edge 540 single seat is set up with the stock pull-pull. He also flew mine at last year's XFC with pull-pull. With two servos in the tail, if they are perfectly matched in programming, push-pull works great...

    36% PAU Edge 540T

The two seated is a few grams heavier from a larger canopy, and has a little more side area for knife edge. It mostly comes down to aesthetic preference of shape and color. The fly very similar.

Video Cameras - what is the best one?

I have not shopped for one for a while, but for filming a flight from the ground, you would need one with a zoom, and a view finder: it can be challenging to shoot on a bright sunny day without the view finder. HD camera prices should be dropping soon: I just read that all the manufacturers of...

Not on the current batch. The Edges do have split cowl. The Extra is in the process of designing some future changes, and the split cowl will be part of that.
