I like mine slightly nose heavy too. There have been times when I even moved the CG past the manufacturers recommended range. I have found some of them are too far forward.

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

Got the sheeting for the vertical stab glued on. For the smaller parts I like to use some double sided tape to hold the skins to the shucks. With as thin as the trailing edge of the vertical stab is on the Dalton, I find it makes it easier to keep the balsa skin where I want it. Got the...

    Pilot RC 122" Extra 330SC

Just seems to be a lot of variation. Some run good and some run great. The new ZDZ 180 seems to be a bad mother and of course the 3W 170 should be great too.

    Pilot RC 122" Extra 330SC

Interesting... A DA 170 is not off of the table for my Dalton but that might steer me towards a 3W or ZDZ.

That's a new 170? I thought it came out of the Sukhoi!

    Pilot RC 122" Extra 330SC

Yeah that's what I was getting at. It's the new thing to use those and I've seen them on other kit builds. I was thinking of using them on my Dalton 300 but I may stick with the bolt type ones so I can adjust the height. I'm also afraid that my servos will be too close to the hinge line but...

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

Ok, I've been traveling for work and thankfully vacation too. Before I left, I put some weight on the cores to start warping the balsa skins some. I then took a piece of 3/4" MDF at cut it to overlap the vertical stab core. It's warped a little but should flatten out once I put eight on it...

Was it hard to get the proper servo linkage setup with the G10 control horns on the ailerons or not too bad?

I prefer to put the root caps on before sheeting too.

What screws are you using for this? I have a ProFlow can in my Edge and I haven't had any slipping problems yet but I've been thinking about using a couple screws to make sure things stay where they should.

No, that's a fair assessment. I don't know why I didn't think of using a throttle curve to tailor it to my style.

Ok so here's a question that I'm a bit curious about. With the additional power of the ZDZ 180 over a DA 170 (just for comparison sake, they are pretty popular), is it more difficult to control the plane in a hover or another 3D maneuver or is it easier? The reason why I ask goes back to...

    Pilot RC 122" Extra 330SC

Baffling is important but I see some really elaborate jobs with twins. I think if you're getting air to the front of the cylinders and keeping it from immediately going down upon entering the cowl, you're probably good to go.

With this being a rotary valve motor, do pipes still increase power or do they not have any effect?

I like a little more gap than recommended too. Are you putting the RE3's in this one too?

I never had a problem with the ignition when I had my 56 twin. That was back when there were problems with them overheating so all I did was mount it on some pieces of basswood so there was a gap underneath it.
