    What's Up With 3DHS??

I have a 58 sitting out in my garage. I wonder what it's going to take for me to go out and measure the tube? :)

    What's Up With 3DHS??

You can download manuals from their site. Did you try to contact them re the wing tube? But since I'm pretty sure they read this thread, they're gonna know who you are... Karma is a b-tch... :)

    What's Up With 3DHS??

I'm not a team sponsored pilot and I work for a major software company and I'm carrying a quota close to 50 million dollars... I do think I have a little tiny bit of business knowledge... But this discussion has run its course. Your wild speculation is obviously more accurate than my wild...

    What's Up With 3DHS??

For fun, let's try to estimate the TAM. There are 2500 AMA clubs in the US. Judging from the clubs I'm a member of, there's maybe 10 people in each club who are into high-end 3D stuff. So you have 25,000 potential customers. Most of them are flying the small stuff, but let's say the average...

    What's Up With 3DHS??

Yup. I've heard the same thing. It's called being a victim of your own success.

    What's Up With 3DHS??

Ah, a "3dhs is going out off businesses" thread! They've been popping up a few times a years ever since I got into the hobby. I see a lot off speculation, but very few facts. 3dhs probably has enough fanatically loyal customers to stay in business for the foreseeable future. Scaling up isn't as...

    What's Up With 3DHS??

I think one reason that so many things are out of stock is that they're doing a major refresh on their product lines. New extras, New edge etc... not an excuse for not answering the phone, though...

    noob looking for advice

You won't outgrow the Slick at all. I know some really good pilots who always have one in the car for impromptu flights. It's a bit more expensive and requires more expensive gear if I recall correctly.

    noob looking for advice

The Edge is a great beginner plane, but you may outgrow it faster than the Slick. You can't go wrong with either one.

Does a tuned pipe reduce noise?

That one looks like it would fit my budget! :)

Does a tuned pipe reduce noise?

Just did the math, and I'd have to spin my little 23x8 at over 11000 rpm to make it super sonic, so that ain't going to happen. I guess I'm getting a tuned pipe then. Well, as soon as I've gotten over the sticker shock, that is. Over 200 bucks for a piece of tube! Yikes!

Drinking wine in front of the fire pit right now. Got a few flights in yesterday. Life doesn't suck right this second. How have you been?

Does a tuned pipe reduce noise?

Amazing, it made the engine sound like Christian rock! :) I'll PM Jeff and see what he says. Thanks a lot! Much appreciated!

Does a tuned pipe reduce noise?

I have an Aerobeez 88" Slick with a DA50. I would call the power "just enough" for that plane and I can't afford to lose any horse powers. We're trying to reduce the noise at our field, so I'm thinking of replacing my REALLY LOUD single pipe side dump with something a little less noisy...

3D foamy for up to 15 mph winds!

Yup. I sell multi million dollar software systems for a living. Was it that obvious? :)

3D foamy for up to 15 mph winds!

Keep in mind that there was a time when expo and KE-mixes were considered "cheating". Now it's as mainstream as can be. The same thing will happen with gyros.

3D foamy for up to 15 mph winds!

I have a EagleTree Guardian in my Beast 60e. It's a bit of a quirky plane that needs some taming, so a gyro is a great addition to it. I like the 3D heading hold mode. Center a channel, and it keeps that axis steady (e.g. the rudder in a hover). But as soon as you touch the stick, the gyro...
