I had that whole experiment with the 10GX which is a .61 engine converted to gas. 13x4 was the best prop we tried. The new 8cc is in the new mustang PTS and I am not sure if it released yet. I missed the whole glow 3D era. My 15cc 60" edge is still going. Just have not gotten it out since...

    3DHS and Extreme Flight Merger?

How about 8 months. That is how long it took to get mine. You have to put out the capital and warehouse space and risk to stock spare parts. A lot of the companies just break up kits, but we go through canopies and cowls faster than wings and stabs. 3DHS seems to just get big orders like...

2015 Joe Nall Predictions. What ya got?

I had to go up to the float line to get to "periscope depth" to get data and text messages. Just spectating this year. Should be some fun down at 3D with Redwing attending for the first time and PAU with that seriously cool Viper. Will there be one or two tents for the other market leaders...

These are 16" I believe. I got them form the garage shelving Lowes has. I have to put the bigger planes on their sides to accomodate the short arm length.

You are the one that fixed it back up though as it needed some love. When I get back you just need to bring that MXS over and we can assemble it in like 4 hours. Here is my airplane storage system. Garage shelving from lowes/home depot with pipe insulation. This is the back wall of my garage.

Aerobeez 70″ Slick PRO Step By Step Build Guide

I have run a A60-6XS on a number of planes and I now agree that unless it sub 9 pounds, the power is less than impressive by the current standard. I ran it on 7s one day with a smaller prop, but they were junk batteries. Might be good for XA that way with a 18x10. This plane is appealing...

    3DHS and Extreme Flight Merger?

I don't think we will know the answer to this until Joe Nall. Both camps are staying out of public eye till then as they both are skipping SEFF and 3DHS skipped the trade show circuit. There is a thread on this over on Giant Scale News that SleepyC went into his contacts and got a lot of his...

    72" Extra 330SC

The pilot is a 12 pound plane. This one can be built electric under 10. You can get a 4330-225 and either run a big prop on 10s or 19x8 on 12s.

    Servo bench testing

I actually don't know. I thought this rig was so cool, I just talked to the team guy that built the rig about it and never looked at what was actually being tested. Sorry.

    Servo bench testing

I must bow to RedwingRC. They got the servo tester correct and I learned I need to tweak my setup.

GSN Product Review - The Soloshot2 Robotic Cameraman!

I have one coming and mostly what I do is XA/3D so I will see how well it works. Pretty cool idea with the spot light. Have to mull on that one.

Our solar system is several thousand dollars, but it will put out 700 watts just off the panels. There are 4 big deep cycles there. Have not run out of power yet any day I have been there. You can really see the voltage spike back up when the sun comes out and hits the panels. I have a...

12S power systems ideas and options

With Anderson Power Poles I would crimp the BEC wires into the low connector. These are 8 guage wire and I was not going to fit anything extra in with the bullets.

12S power systems ideas and options

You make a harness for the battery lead wires to the ESC. You have two plugs to make a series harness. The red wire from the ESC is the "high" side as this is where the 50V is on the red wire. You install a wire out of the black on this connector to the red on the "low" side. Then the black on...

12S power systems ideas and options

Use Aero's PAR calc as that is a lot better than ecalc. It is in his signature. Run the BEC on the "low" side of the harness if it is a 6s BEC. That means the side with the ground going to ESC. Also consider getting a ultraguard or a Scorpion BUG for a redundancy for your RX power.

Redwing Elite 50cc Slick 540 (new scheme)

Come over to the power systems thread to tell us all about the dual sky data. It looks like a Q80-8M clone, but that could just be looks. Where did you pick it up from? On another note, Tim mentioned over on FG they are making Edge wings for this model so you can have 2 planes in one.

Yes, you stay up by the airport is the best from what I have found. Drive the 25 mins down to Woodruff every day.

Joe Nall 2015 registration is now open!!! Who's going?

Have not picked the hotel yet. Yes, Wednesday-Friday are the days as they do noon demos and the vendor mall is fully open. Since people drive from so far away they tend to leave Saturday. BBQ is Friday night. The weekends are not where it is at for this event.

Yes, EF team are not overly out going. To me the example of what team pilots should be are members of Team Horizon. They spend as much time in the pits as they do out on the line. SEFF 3D line being empty is not a bad thing for me after my winter. I am only getting little bits of flying...

Joe Nall 2015 registration is now open!!! Who's going?

I am going this year just with a hotel room and a golf cart rental for the peak days which are Wednesday-Friday. This year I am treating this event like Oshkosh, great to spectate, not so great to fly into. Camping is a great way to meet people and have a good time though. I feel like I...
