    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

My 70 runs on 40:1 stihl and it was making black soot all season. The twin burns more fuel and is less efficient for the air mass moved through it so that is probably the issue. The VVRC-40 is a bit messy as well and the PTE-72 was as bad as a glow plane.

    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

Of all of my EF airframes, only the 88 edge disappointed me. I just never connected with it and ailerons were a bit small to hold a hover. The guy I sold it to loves it and says he feels instantly at home with it, so it must just be my preferences/style. Just got a 91 extra to replace it. Same...

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

I think Gary had a set on his 104 so that must be it. Or maybe it was a story he was telling.

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

I never had any melting and I just got a 91. Must be thinking of someone else. I only have a set of black ones on my 104, and they have been perfect. Mine were the prototypes, so all the rest are based off my cowling.

You might be able to rig something from another ARF.

My New 3D Extra 300 Prototype For Fly-Model

The DA-35 is very much lighter than the 50. The 60 is lighter than the 50. The only reason Nate and I suggested electric was for flexibly and reliability as your testing more than just hucking it around. If you are more comfy with the gas then go for it. There is a complete lack of airframes for...

    suppo 7035/8

This motor is very close in specs to the Q80-6L I am putting into a EF 91" Extra. The description says to keep the prop to 24" on 12s. The 91 likes a little more nose weight, so that would be the first plane I would direct you to. 190kv is also a little higher than the 180 on the 6L, so a Mej...

12S power systems ideas and options

We have discussed the two scorpions in this size. Lucien has told us that they might not hold up to 3D abuse. The 5335 weight is probably without mount and such so it will be close enough to the Motrolfly to look weak. I am interested in the 5325 of theirs maybe for a EF 74" e-laser when it...

    78'' Extra

The VVRC-40 is it's own bolt pattern and is like no other motor I know of. The airframe has always been one that is in search of a proper powerplant. The DLE-35 on a pipe is the preffered setup among the group up here. I know the DA-35 on pipe is better. The VVRC-40 is a better 3D setup as...

    3DHS 70" Velox

We had a ton of 68 Velox ejections. We modified the canopy with bolts. The 70 just had them bring the cowling farther back as to give more of a lip to secure it, but the latch is still not a great deal. Everytime it happened though we managed to get the plane home. Battery ejections is why I...

    94" mxs-exp

Ordering the airframe this week. I have all the power system parts and servos. Probably won't go on the bench till next month though. The 91 yak and 91 extra are 2-3 pounds different airplanes.

    78'' Extra

You will have to change the bolt pattern. My 40 twin throttle servos are mounted so the linkage is under the motor box and the 35 has to go through the firewall. Also the DA-35 choke is just plain stupid in its location. I think the DLE-35 is a step back in power unless you pipe it. People up...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

Try a "mid" rate at around 40 degrees on ailerons. Anything above that is pure deflective force. I also found just SFGs only was my way to fly this plane. The tips take the roll rate down for me.

    78'' Extra

You could try to put the VVRC-40 on a pipe with the new 2-1 header. Cheaper than changing out the motor.

    94" mxs-exp

I am putting the 6L on a 91" Extra, so yes I would assume that would be a viable setup. The 5335-189 or Q80-8M will likely be similar to a DA-60.

Mike bought the site so he is now the owner and has closed Gary's account. Gary is going to be out of the country for the next year defending the country as he is a US Air Force Officer on a deployment. There are business reasons behind the account closure and that is the part that is not...

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

I am sure there are some business issues we don't know about. Just seems that deleting the account with the most content on a forum is counter productive. Be interesting to see what this direction is as Gary strived to make this more than a "BS" forum with content and reviews.
