Yes. I have attended events with them before and know what that brings, and also what it doesn't bring, which is a lot of sponsored pilots. I go to these events to fly. This is a father/son trip we do. Dad would either do Nall, or SEFF, and we did Nall last year and did not have the greatest...

I have a heat pump on my pool, which is a reverse AC unit to pump heat into the water. My pool is literally still a ice cube at the moment though. Here comes April and I still have several inches of snow on the ground. It is going to be strange driving to GA for SEFF and it will essentially...

12S power systems ideas and options

Have you tried a slotted cooling spinner like the tru turn or Gator-RC/Taildragger? They top out at 3.5 and 3.25", but work very well at getting air into the front of the motor. I have been messing with the new Revo 435 blend packs. They are overcharger smaller packs so the weight is down a...

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

It should balance with the servo in the tail with the twin, especially on stock exhaust. More moment arm on the weight. Plus I just like to avoid pull pull if I can. My monster electric one balanced just fine with the aft rudder servo. Your motor is heavier than the electric motor and your...

Yes, but are there jobs and access to transport? Your part of OR is pretty remote compared to all the places I have lived. My spouses's niece just fled eastern OR to Tucson to get access to schools and jobs.

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

If you have not purchased the motor I would strongly urge you to go with the 70. It is slightly cheaper than the 60/RE2 and slightly lighter with stock muffs. Also easier to tune and less vibes.

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

This plane builds out at 21 or more pounds. DA-60 with a pipe is OK power, but not outstanding. Most do DA-70 or DA-85. One guy I doing a DLE-85 over on the FG thread.

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

A 3" spinner is what is called for I believe. I use a 3.25"'electric one and it fits perfectly. With the DA-35 you will will have to either get a tru turn drilled for the 35 or get a blank metal or carbon fiber one a drill it yourself. All the pre made ones only seem to come in the DLE-30...

    74" Edge 540

10 minutes on a 3d electric is really hard. You are in a loosing battle when it come to power loading with the extra capacity and you will drop below the 2:1 thrust to weight we all crave. Since you committed to the ICE100 you are limited to 8s. Depending on the weight of your 6s 3800s, you...

    74" Edge 540

With 6s you can just buy one battery. The edge needs more nose weight than some of the others, so a heavier power system works well. If your charger can't handle a lot of 6s packs then 8s work well especially if you are using a 12V power supply. Lower on the kv range works better for low and...

    74" Edge 540

Are you dead set on 8s? What type of flying do you want to do. high or low energy? The 4330 is a wonderful choice as it is lighter than the A60-5S fo about the same power and cost. Just pick a wind that works for you. Also the Hackers are pushing the size limit on the e-box with the x-mount...

    Servo bench testing

When I setup my 100cc stuff I use a servo amp meter and the 7955s go up to 2A or so. The bushless 2270s and BLS-157s go to around 1A. These hitecs did not get warm at all. Others get very hot. I tried to test amp draw once while doing these, but hooking the meter up severely affects results. Too...

    Servo bench testing

That is what I thought. They passed the test enough to get used in my EF 91 Extra. Trying to save what weight I can as the Savox 2231s were the other choice. I read back through the thread and I see tested a few other servos to higher torque as well. I am comparing to the servos that I have...

12S power systems ideas and options

Do you have an idea on the model weight? It looks like 17 pounds is about the sweet spot for this motor to get 3D type power to weight. My 5335-195 is on a EF MXS that is 14.5 pounds, but it does not have the wing area you will have. Just updated it to a Mezon 130. Which event? Owatanna...

    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

Yes, this is retreaded subject. Freight is probably cheaper. We paid $124 last time for 2 91s, and a couple of spare canopies to a commercial address. I got a 78 once UPS that was over $140. There was something Arron posted about the 3DHS 75 that Noll had to fiddle with the UPS numbers to...

Got some Hitec 9370TH brushless. Pretty impressive. Only the 7950TH and the Savox 2230/2231 have been any better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HnRRntRYuE

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

RC buyers has some of those keepers locally. I also got some from Azhar. I have had to start using them again for the Jeti antenna. I am big fan of sticking to the same servos in a plane if I can. Only the rudder do I sometimes go with more torque. I almost talked myself into 7980THs...
