    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

I figured it's about time that I posted something about this here. I've had a Dalton Extra 300 (non-MEL) since the spring of 2009. I was still in school so having time to work on it and the funds made things go very slow. I then graduated and moved up to the Amarillo area. Time and money are...

Good question... Couldn't tell you. I pulled the line in the tank that goes to the carb forward and now I have the Seafoam in my fuel can. Should hopefully keep things clean for a while.

I went ahead and put 2 ounces in my fuel jug. I just wanted to get rid of whatever formed the film on the fuel screen in the carb. My plan is to mix in another gallon with the 1/4 gallon in the jug that now has Seafoam and add then not add any more until maybe the season is over to prevent...

No that's the last thing I want to start, trust me. I remember running ethanol in all my gas planes before this one so I'll just stick with the pump gas. I'll do some research to see if adding Seafoam helps any. Unfortunately this plane is a pain to work on the engine. Oh well, it'll be a...

So, keep running the pump gas I am using and just plan on changing gaskets/diaphragm/screen every year or use a different fuel source like SEF or unbranded ethanol free?

    Desert Aircraft Owners

Well I think I found my problem. I was replacing the gaskets and diaphragm in the carb and there was an somewhat opaque film covering the fuel screen. So, I was running 91 octane Phillips gas and now the question is do I continue and mix in some Seafoam, try the ethanol free gas from the...

    Cool old school planes??

At the rate I'm going with my Dalton Extra 300, it's going to be a cool old plane before I even finish it!

Good point. I was trying to tune out the burble before the vent line mod so I will put it back at factory and make sure it's transitioning and sounding OK at full throttle before I get it off the ground.

Club 40 Racing? (Yes, I know they're not Giants)

Cool. I'd like to hear what you think of that EVO gasser. From what I've read they still get slimy because you have to mix the fuel 20:1 or something like that.

Club 40 Racing? (Yes, I know they're not Giants)

Well, our club is doing it now but I am wanting to hear about other peoples thoughts on it. Most of the guys in the club here fly models with a .61 or smaller engine and wouldn't fly anything that doesn't run on nitro. There are that have an electric but it's still a nitro dominant club...

Club 40 Racing? (Yes, I know they're not Giants)

Yes but I just don't have that kind of time. I remember when Tony Russo moved out to AZ and was complaining about driving hard all day just to get across the state.

Yeah, Georgetown is about a 9 hour drive from me lol.

    Glassing and Painting techniques

So here's a question related to the task at hand. How do you fit the lexan canopy with the hatch structure and then go about doing the fiberglassing? Also, any suggestions for making sure you get the lines on the canopy right when you go to paint or do you tape, stand back, and re-tape if...

Club 40 Racing? (Yes, I know they're not Giants)

Didn't see another forum area to post this in so feel free to move this if it needs to go in another spot. My club has some members that are big into the Club 40 racing with the World Models Skyraider MK2's. They keep telling me I need to get one but in all honesty I'm more into 50cc and...

Ok, here's a tuning question that has me confused after reading this. I was working with the needles on my DA 60 this weekend and the motor was transitioning fine. Now I'm thinking I'm too rich but here's the crazy thing. When I'm at 1/4-1/2 throttle and go into an upline it seems to bog down...

    DA 60 Acting Funny

Cool. I'll probably get the carb rebuild kit since it's less than $10 and mix in some Seafoam next time I mix up some gas.

    DA 60 Acting Funny

I have a DA 60 on a Pro Flow can running a 24x10 Mejzlik. The plane is a 3DHS Slick and I was having problems with the motor bogging in knife edge and during rolling harriers. My fix was to put a nipple on the carb and run it back to a pill bottle for static air. At the end of last season, my...

GiantScaleNews is PROUD to Welcome Reza Gholamipour!!

I'm currently using both JR and Futaba and maybe the JR/Futaba difference is greater in their high end radio systems but not so much in the 9303/11X and 14SG. Both systems have one merit over another but personally I'm more interested in what Jeti and Graupner are working on. And the Taranis...

    What's a DA 100L Worth?

I've been seeing some really good prices on used DA 100L's. I guess there's a lot of other options such as DLE, GP, the DA 120 etc. that they're just not worth that much money anymore. I think it's great because if you don't need to have the biggest and baddest, you can get into a 100cc plane...
