    Wram 2014 starts today!!!

Even though it is not 3D, it is still pretty cool. They have a Pilatus PC-6 made from elapor foam and has a optional float kit. It will be cheaper than the current Fun Cub in a PNP format. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUvGwVMQ2d8

    Wram 2014 starts today!!!

They have a new voltage alarm that you hook up to your balance port for quick and inexpensive aural telemetry for low voltage. Up to 4S lipo.

    Wram 2014 starts today!!!

I went to WRAM today. Let's start with Hitec RCD as they had some cool things to show and see. They are going to eventually replace all of their 5 and 7 series servos with 32 bit boards so resolution will go way up, mostly above the current generation of radios. The new Aurora 9X supports...

    74" Edge 540

I had to flip the mufflers around from the Yak to the Extra. I was considering getting a Hangar 9 inverza for this motor at some point and if I got all the measurements right the engine would just bolt straight to the firewall with no standoffs which requires the mufflers to go a certain way...

    72" Extra 330SC

I gave my wrecked one to a buddy. It collapsed and bounced back in a lawn dart. The paint is horrible, but the fiberglass is ok. I will ask what he wants to do with it. The plane was electric so no cut outs.

    New Here? Introduce yourself!

Well the fun cub is just a blast. I also like the quality of the kit. It was actually fun to put together. I did discover that it really does not like to fly fast. I used it in a fun fly and pumped it up to 4s for the relay and lets just say it did not ever want to fly in a straight line...

    74" Edge 540

I started with a 12oz tank with the twin, but found 10 minutes flight time to be landing on vapors. I went with a 16oz. All my other 30cc stuff uses the smaller tank.

    3dhs 92" edge 540 !!!

The Mej 24x10TH is a great blend. I like it a little better than the 24x9. The Falcon 24x10 is a go fast prop.

This is on a 20x7 props. I do know that it is ridiculous power, but the ES pipe and header is pretty pricey. For some reason I don't think I have gotten to fly either one with the pipe. I flew dth7 's plane, but I think it was on stock setup at the time.

This is not my setup. 2 locals have this and that is the RPM number I seem to remember. I asked one of them and he can't remember either. Maybe it was in the mid to high 8k range which makes more sense in the calculator. I will get a reading once we are back flying outdoors again. More...

That is very similar. The one I have is from PE's website and I think it is newer as it has a lot more pages and props in it. PM me your e-mail address and I will send it to you.

    78'' Extra

Here are some tailwheel choices I have used. I don't like the tiller type used on 3DHS planes so I replace them. http://www.aero-works.net/store/detail.aspx?ID=420 http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__21928__Carbon_Fiber_Tail_wheel_set_50cc.html...

I use the prop power calculator Pe Rievers (sp?) made. I find it very helpful in doing prop comparisons. You would need 2 ES pipes to do that, and at that point you might as well buy a whole new 50cc plane after having to get the custom headers made.

    3DHS 70" Velox

I have one of these that I had intended in putting in a 30cc electric. Never got around to it. I used the bigger one in my 50cc electric 89 slick. http://shop.rc-electronic.com/SPS-SYSTEMS/SPS-SafetyPowerSwitch-34V-60-120A.htm?shop=k_emcotec_e&a=article&ProdNr=A72000&p=2263

Who knows. DA has only put out tidbits of information. They can spin a 21x8 as well with it. I am sure we will get some answers at WRAM on Friday. They said that the engine will still not be available at this shows. MAYBE Toledo, but I saw it announced there 2 YEARs ago. It is currently in...

When I plug it all into the prop calculator, the DLE-35RA on the ES pipe is more Horsepower than the 40 twin. It just achieves it at a higher RPM with a smaller prop. The DA-35 will probably be in the same category. The advantages of the twin are: 1) more torque in the low end (not overall...

I am pretty sure the 78" MXS is the next release as Chris said it was in production. Also there is a new 110 Yak coming. I also know that he is a tester for DA and he was the first to have a DA-70. One can only guess what the DA-35 will be put in he will get for testing.

    Servo bench testing

Update today. Patrick built a little better mouse trap and here is what we have from today. All of this on a 2s lipo unregulated through a AR8000. We tried the amp meter, but it affected the results. You can see how line loss affects servos. 5665 145 oz-in 5685 310 oz-in (we tripled...
