    Inexpensive servos is today's market

I ran mine on unregulated lipo and still had all those issues. I still have them laying in the parts bin, and they might find their way into a project next season. The HKs look more promising.

    Inexpensive servos is today's market

Sticking to budget theme and experimental nature here are some of my experiences. Standard size for 30cc Solar 770 and 771 were no where near the specs they posted and were subject to blow back on my 30cc Yak. stay away Solar 772 on the other hand, while slow, have been fairly good and...

    New Here? Introduce yourself!

Please bring more plane content. Ever since the Crash Cast and ATTF became multi rotor shows, yours has become the first weekly podcast I listen to on my drive to work I think your crew has talked me into getting a 550 and for sure a Ikon/MSH Brain.

3DHS New Products and General Plane Info/Help for Fanatics

Twins are just better, especially for low 3D flying with the extra torque. My VVRC 40 has been the biggest success of a project this past season.

    What's on your bench?

How to do sheeting How the wing is assembled How to fix mistakes in wood working How to use filler and prep for covering How to do some modifications like I changed the flaps to work as ailerons and I changed the bevel in the elevator to get more throw. I am not finished with the kit yet, but...

    What's on your bench?

I broke out my Great Planes RV-4 kit I have been working on for 2 years. I at least double beveled the tail and made the flaps into a 4 surface wing like a ultrastick. Learning to cover at the moment. Won't be a 3D plane, but it is teaching me a lot about repairs.

I have not run the Falcon 24x9 yet on the DA-60 pipe setup, but on Patrick's stock EME-60 we get 6550 on the 24x9 and 6350 on the 24x10TH. He is going back to the 24x9. On Gary's DA60/RE2 we were getting almost equal RPM numbers on the Mej 24x10 and 24x10TH, 6800 RPM or so.

I tried a 20x8 and it was not enough prop. See if you can get a 21x8 instead. This motor in not supposed to go over 7k rpm. I am at 7100 with the Mej 21x8. I want to try a 21x10 when I get a chance.

We triedXoar 25A and B on Gary's 91 with same setup and he did not like either one. 25a had no speed and 25b was too much load. I have a Vess 25B I am dying to try on my PTE-72. I have my 60/RE2 on a giant stick running a 23x12 at the moment. We keep coming back to the Mej 24x10TH.

Extreme Flight RC 91" Yak 54 build

The only word of caution is have for the 7956SHR is don't do rudder touches with it. I did one with my Edge and the arm sheered! It is very thin actually where it attaches to the spline. This in the end is a 7954 with a fancy arm arrangement. Hitec replaced it, but it is not impervious. I...

That is my intention as well. You can not compare the Hacker 14 pole motors to the 28 pole ones so I will probably go with either the 8S or 7S and use my 60" packs. I looked up those Mezon ESCs and they are just as pricey as the Scorpion ESC I used before. For 1/3 the price I think I will try...

    3dhs 92" Edge 540

That part only works on RCxel ignitions that have the RPM lead. They make the box for the Evolutions and the VVRC as well as all the DLE's. I am going to try to use one on my OS GT60 or GT33 to see if that will fix the backward starting issue as well as open a path to this telemetry. I have...

I ended up getting 3" turnbuckles to get the throw I wanted with 2" position. I have a bin with a bunch of different 3" wheels if you need some. I also have a spare set of 4" Kavan inflatable balloon tires, but those will look funny for sure.

12s 5000 is more appropriate for a 50cc conversion I think and working with a 12s 3300 type setups will be more interesting as many people have these laying around for the 60" planes. Might have to prop down to a 21x10 or 20x10 to get the flight time. I think A60-8S is the best fit of what is...

I have felt the same way about the 78 till the middle of this season. We finally found some power combos that got enough punch to make it shine. I did not want to do a 10s electric setup. For the 78 MXS I might try a 12s 3300-4000 setup and see if I can get that to work. I like having 1...

    84" Bigfoot

The bigger ones are treaded tires. The balloon tires only come in 4 and 5 inch. I use the 5" ones on Biggie and 4" on one of my Ultrasticks. Also the balloons are in pairs and treaded only in singles. Last time I got some, I only ordered 1 for my big Yak and I still need the other one...

In order to get the linkage out to the 2" position I had to turn the ball links out. I put the spare push rods up to them and noticed I only had 3 or 4 turns in on each side. I am going to pick up some 2.5 or 3" H9 turnbuckles probably tomorrow as I have to go down to Nashua with the Mrs...
