    15cc EF 60" Edge 540T-EXP Gasser

Video from yesterday. Much better demonstration on what it can do. I will try the SFGs next. There is over a minute flying time before this edit so this was over a 8 minute flight. Still plenty of gas left. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-THPpcdaYpc

    15cc EF 60" Edge 540T-EXP Gasser

I tried the Xoar 15x5 and it was too much prop. I think I might need to try something like a 14x6. Got a APC 15x4W and 14x4W to try this week. We are getting wonderful weather for this time of year. Flew it today (video forthcoming) and I am getting to know it's quirks a little better. The...

Patrick fixed my 89 landing gear with acraglas epoxy. I have not used it yet, but it appears very solid. I too tried CA in the past with only short term results. I have the stock aluminum gear if you need it to get by.

    84" Bigfoot

I use evolution 45mm standoffs on my 2 GT33s. I drilled them out and used long M5 bolts into blindnuts. The distance you need is 165mm and the motor is just short of 120mm from back of the prop hub to where the standoffs mount. http://manuals.hobbico.com/osm/gt33-manual.pdf

    OMP Yak 55M 120cc

I bought a 88" Raven from OMP. When I needed a new CF landing gear the owner directed me to Azhar, whom took care of me because they were out. The two EGs I owned were not as refined as the two big brands. I would compare them to Aeroworks or maybe Hangar 9. I have not flown any of the new...

I have 2 115 amp hour deep cycles I got from Costco. I know it will only do 4 to 5 6s 5300s on one battery. I run both of them in series these days for 6s and I have not exhausted them yet.

You won't break the Laser. Joe has that plane with the Hacker setup and it pushes 1000 watts.

I liked the 48" Laser the best of the ones I have flown. Never flew the Yak. The only one I still own is a 3DHS 48" Velox though. I would also think about the 47" 3DHS 300 SHP. The must be a reason why it has stuck around so long. http://www.3dhobbyshop.com/47-Extra-300-SHP--Blue_p_15107.html

    3dhs 92" edge 540 !!!

I built a 89 Slick electric last season. The Q80 is the way to go on a motor. I used a Emcotec switch to avoid shocking myself when I plugged in the batteries. 50V DC is not something to trifle with.

Here is the maiden video. Sorry it took 6 weeks to upload it. I will hopefully get some time on it this week and get a hatcam video up of how it flies at the moment with a 15x4 Xoar prop and the CG correct. Still have not done up the cowling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBlU7wHZq64

    3dhs 92" edge 540 !!!

I have noise issues at some fields so running canisters would open up some more sights that I could fly this model at. I am already running the PTE-72 on stock mufflers and it is fairly loud. I would expect this motor to be a bit more power based on the numbers I have seen thrown around. Also...

    3dhs 92" edge 540 !!!

DA called me today about my "pre-order" of the DA-70. I had to pass until I figure out if the two canister setup would fit or dual tuned pipes. That would be crazy.

    3dhs 92" Edge 540

On the small throttle arm, just use a small arm on the servo end. Proper geometry. I have used a few of those Seacraft fuel dots. One of them had a magnet come unglued and it was always popping out. Pretty slick setup when it works though. Also the hole is a bit small and needs a certain size...

    3dhs 92" edge 540 !!!

Called the bus station. The fuse is here, but they can't release it till The wings arrive. Looks like servos are enroute and I picked up some 7955s for a future project that could be used with some 7950s I have if I needed to get it going quick. Still can't decide on a motor. I am going to fly...

I might have to put this event on the "to do" list next year if I manage to get a new hauling rig. Have to work on having some more electron driven planes as well. That facility is so nice.

    60" Laser-EXP

I flew both Lasers with and without SFGs. Since I am working on pitch maneuvers like waterfalls and the Vortex I stuck with the SFGs. I think rollers are easier with them as well as it slows down the roll rate and gives it more beta stability. For tumbles and other high energy moves without...

I usually put on another layer of fiberglass on the edges of wheel opening. This gives them more strength in the areas they need it. Takes 20 minutes to cut the strips and glass them. Let them setup overnight. 30cc size wheel pants seem to be a high wear item on the grass we fly off of. On...
