I used rivets, another way would be to tap the hole with a 1/4 20 or 1/4 28 and after put some shrink tubing on the threads to keep from marking the balsa. If you make something post it here.

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

Hey Orthobird, go ahead and get you one. OK, few more steps closer, I took a break from the hatch and worked on cutting the ailerons and everything else that comes with that like gluing on the LE, TE and locating the hinges. Unlike the rudder and elevators I decided to locate and drill the...

Hey guys I have a question. I want to paint the inside of the hatch and I don't want the grain showing on the wood. Recomendetions would be great. I saw where Trev in Canada uses Eze-Kote. Was wonering if there is anything else I could use from like Home Depo or Lowes. Thanks in advance.

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

Now that I have the hatch frame completed, I can line up the canopy and trim it. I also worked on the dash panel, I added more detail to it, and this was fun to do.

I used the same set up on the 118 and I never had one come loose and that was without using any blue locktite. I do believe they hold better.

With the fin in place and the TE done it was time to start adding on the bottom decks and turtle deck. Sorry but I failed to take pictures of the process. After completing the decks I started on the hatch, THAT!! Is a ton of work. Gota have some kind of plan. On the 118 I built I caught hell...

Next was to cut off the extra balsa and sand it flush against the sheeting, mark the center linens which was very easy to do since I already had the hinge locations, more cutting and sanding and WOOOHOOO my first moving surface.

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

MAN!! It has been way too hot down here in Augusta to be out on the garage, I don’t have much of air flow, even at 8pm it still 100f. Ok enough belly aching. So I’ve completed setting the incidence on the stabs and the wings. It took me a while to do this as I was being very cautious, checking...

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

So I have both wings done now, I drew two lines, one on the fuse and one on the main wing root, this was just to give me a reference point so I could line up the wing. I decided to install the wing hard points after gluing the root cap on so that I could find perfect centering between the...
