IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

Thank you for posting Al, great info there. What I did on mine was to first glue the carbon strips on the foam with epoxy, I then used GG for the sheeting, since GG starts to set up on 15 minute I didn’t want to be messing with the strips while trying to place the sheets on the foam. I tested...

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

I use gorilla glue and vacum bag the parts. You have to have everything ready to go, not much time with the stuff before it starts setting. On large parts like the wings, I wait till there is a cooler day than normal and low humidity, I also keep the glue in the house, keeping it cool gives me a...

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

Not much to show, it was a short night, watched a classic with the kids. Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark and they loved it. I worked on the hard points for the wings and the incidence wood blocks. I’ve notice on some cardens where the 1/8 inch plate actually bends when guys install the...

The wing and the stabs come with the holes already in them. Not sure how Dennis does it. Good question.

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

I’ve never been a fan of leaving open holes or slots on the foam so I cut out some very small pieces of light balsa and glued them in the slots. Just a piece of mind is all. After that I glued on the carbon fiber strips on the foam with 30 minute epoxy.

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

One step closer, I was able to get one wing sheeted, but before that, I located the servo doors and cut the foam out as well as the servo wire slot. The other thing to make sure before sheeting is to check the root end against the fuse; I didn’t have to do any sanding.

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

So now on the wings, first, mark the ailerons and locate the hinge line. My next step was to locate where I’m going to cut out the foam for the servo boxes. I located on the box where the center of the arm will be coming out as well as the offset and I transfer that to the foam. The picture...

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

It’s looking like a plane now, I have both stabs ready, once I have the wings done, and I’ll set the incidence on all feathers at the same time. First a few pictures of the stabs end caps. I used gorilla glue to glue them in place.

I can tell you but then I'll have to kill you!!! LOL I got it from a guy in CA, his name is Dave Dixon. He did a thread on a PRO on FG. I contacted him and he sent it to me.

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

Well I have to be honest, after building the 118 I didn’t think I would build another one, but then about a two years ago I made a HUGE mistake, actually three of them, I flew a Carden Pro with a 150, one with a 170 and one with a DA200. I just knew I would own one someday. (OH and one with a...
