Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

If you go back to page 26 where I posted the video flying in the snow with the smaller one you can see how tight it turns just using rudder in a KE to turn and go the opposite direction. The 56" span one was the same way and the 55cc was after I put enough servo on the rudder to keep from...

Yes adjust the fit for the elevator to move. On rudder unless you just want max deflection its not worth modifying the elevator. All the other versions I have just backed the rates down so that it doesn't hit and I still have more than enough rudder authority. Also your call on gluing in the...

Not sure if I ever said it before but if not then I will say it now. Be sure once you install the horizontal stab to install tristock between it and the fuse on both side and top and bottom. It adds a tremendous amount of strength there and if you don't it will eventually break free. I have done...

Yeah it should bend pretty easy. I was able to bend 1/4 think stuff in a vise when I built the 55cc version

Looks great. Yes add the extra bracing. Flat plate surfaces of this size can really start to flex and twist a lot under load.

Scale it up to 70-72" span should work well for something in the 30cc range. The 55cc version I built had a 80" span and was perfect. Honestly the 80" would probably fly just fine and still have good power on a 30-40cc just more fun to have ballistic power.

I never worry with lateral balance unless after flying the plane I have to use a lot of aileron trim. Hatch looks nice. Way more time in it that I spend in making a hatch. I always just do all the sheeting then cut a hatch opening out of it. Trim a 1/16” off of two sides of the hatch piece and...

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Hatch location is personal preference. I always put them on top for convenience. Aileron deflection I normally max out and watch how it flys. Some planes I end up backing it down on as they will start to act as air brakes and the plane will rotate slower and less violently. Same with the...

@AKNick Things should get exciting at home. A buddy of mine had ended up getting a few new printers and no longer using this one so doing an even swap the printer for my old Taranis X9D that he wants. Its the Anet A8 upgraded to the AM8 with Bowden extruder, dual power supplies, and BL Touch...

I still consider the first two ribs as R1 that are glued together. I may have them labeled as 1 and 2 on the plans. When I say from r1 to r3 I'm referring the r3 as the rib on the plans the tube stops at.

The way I have done all the glitter series planes is as follows. Fully sheet top and bottom from from R1 out to R3. Then from r3-r4 go from LE to main spar. The rest of the way just go from LE to the subspar.

Yeah I’m still learning all the things that I can do to improve stuff. Only reason I went 50% on the 5.0 logo was the large flat area it would have to span when doing the last three layers. Wanted it to look nice and smooth with no droop.

It a lulzbot taz6 we have at work. .5 nozzle. The 5.0 logo took 3 hours to print .15 layer height and 50% infill and the dremel mount took almost 7 hours .20 layer height also 50% infill.
