Reamed out the X-Cub brackets to fit a 6-32 bolt. The gear legs fit this bolt no problem, they probably left them small (M3) for alignment ease, but the clunky clunk clunk was driving me crazy. It fits and moves freely. Much nicer.

@AKNick Just finished watching your breezy beach flight with the wing strike. I cringed, but looks like it didn't do too much damage. Hey I'm not sure If I have asked this question here yet or not, but what BEC did you use to power your RX and Servos?

No BEC. Strait 2S LiPo unregulated. Futaba R7014SB

I opened up the wing a bit. NO DAMAGE!!! The wingtip took the blunt force trauma. If I had my struts on I’m sure it would have done more damage by not allowing the wing to flex.... but the window wouldn’t have broke. Definitely a lack of structure keeping the top half of the cabin to the rest of the plane. Design flaw if you ask me.

@AKNick would you mind posting photos from underneath, medium and closeup of how you mounted your Xcub landing gear? I can't for the life of me figure out how these things mount. NONE of the holes that are there are matching up with my Xcub gear. Super frustraTED!

You are not alone. They were not exactly plug and play.
Had to bend a couple piece to fit without binding, and elongate/ream some holes to fit the supplied hardware.

Ok, @AKNick again, thank you so much for your time, your responses to all of our questions and taking those pics for me. I really appreciate it. Will you look at the pics I posted here? I am just confused and so frustrated by this design so far. I am trying to figure out if I need to contact HH and ask them for a replacement for the Xcub gear. Mine are just NOT lining up at all. So I have both bolts going through the mounts in the back braces of the gear attached to the airframe, but I can't get both bolts to go through on the front braces of the gear to the frame. Is this what you had to do? If you see I have only the inside bolt on. Also, my cross brace seems like it is too short if I have both of the front, inside bolts in the frame, then my cross braces, the one with the springs on it, doesn't reach the holes where they mount to the hinge arms. Was yours like this and if so, what did you do to make them reach? Also did you enlarge the holes on the Xcub front mounting brackets in order to use the included hardware with the Timber? those bolts are larger. Sorry, I know this is alot of questions, but you can see my frustration. They say these gear are designed to work with the Timber, but I don't see it.

Happy to help!! Below is my original post about my gear fitting, so yes, just like yours. The welded cross brace and the left spring strut I had to bend to fit. The struts where they attach together inside the bracket I had to file to fit so they wouldn't touch in the middle. The forward bracket inboard bolt I reamed to a larger bolt like the stock gear uses - looks like yours is smaller? I had to elongate the bracket holes so everything could line up. keeping the bolts loose while fitting was key along with taking everything apart and back together several times. Major PITA. Heck one of my gear axel brace isn't even true so it sits a little funny - Tires point in the right direction though. So when you are bending your parts to fit, double check which side you need to bend/elongate in a better direction in case they are not true. . . you'll end up with a better finish. I don't know if it's the gear or the plane.... Also be sure to hit those blind nut retainers with glue!!! I had one pop loose with my rear gear bracket, frustrating, but was able to re-glue it.

Fitting.... um maybe more like retro fitting the XCub gear. What a pain. Sure, there are holes to put the gear on, but once in place I needed to bend, elongate holes, and grind to fit. Not an easy drop in task like I was hoping. It’s turning into a labor of love. Looks out of place upside down, but on its feet it’s looking pretty nice.
