Neat plane - No Doubt. The LE devices move with the flaps from what I could see - they are not fixed. Usually the inlet to outlet is 1:2 on LE devices. Their main purpose is to allow a higher angle of attack at stalled speeds. I'm curious to see how they work in the Shock Cub when flying. Other examples is the Helio, Highlander, superstol that use self deploying LE slats. They pop out when turbulent airflow on top of the wing pops them out - pretty neat system. Not sure how the full scale Shock Cubs LE devices work.
