Read through it some interesting points. One I did not know about was the wheel failure will have to keep an eye out on mine, when I get up in the air hopefully soon.

Please do not be offended, just my concerns. I am sure it is the easiest way of doing it but not as rigid as it should be. Four long posts like that can twist without cross bracing, and does not take much for it to twist. I could be wrong.

It's no different than our gas motors yeah? I'm sure it would be fine if everything was tight and locktite was used. I just removed the blazing start mount last week from my 75" edge and it was pretty hard to remove with blue locktite.

I agree with you @AKNick but I could not keep it tight with long stand off’’s. The plywood for the bulkhead just kept compressing over time. The only way I beat the problem was a 1/8 Aluminum plate under the standoff to distribute the loads and as you said with locktite.

Anyone have a NIB Canopy? Mine was cracked on shipment months ago, and they have been backordered with no ship date soon.

Quite a few people have had this issue. I don't know if anyone here has one though. I've heard of most people contacting Horizon and getting a replacement no problem. Can you fix it with canopy glue? Post a picture.

Not a simple crack. I contacted them immediately when I opened the box in March. So far nothing other than an email stating they are on back order, with no time table.

Dangit. I’d call them to make sure you get one. Emails can get overlooked and it’s hard to get the exact answer you are looking for.

Just assembling my Timber 110 with XCub u/c. I am a little surprised to find that the springs is so tight/hard. Is this ok and install the u/c straight out of the box or do you midify it?

I went stock.
Once you put the whole plane together rock the wings. You’ll see them working. They could be a bit lighter but with the geometry not being perfect you don’t want them too loose. Check out my you tube videos beach flying and you’ll see them in action.

I was literally just about to ask the same question. I just mounted my motor yesterday, (those blazing star stand offs worked like a charm!) I’m glad I’m not the only one asking all the questions! My gear still seem so stiff! I’m already thinking of ways to modify it with piston shocks or something. Part of my reason for getting this plane was to have more fun playing around with the STOL capability and having the safeguard with articulating gear. We shall see if they work like I had hoped.
