My pleasure!

The gear is probably the 60cc H9 X-CUB gear, which is also on my timber. The gear comes in red and covered, I stripped them down and painted them "carbon mist" enamel. Yours appear to have been repainted in yellow?
Can you get a flexible header to the cannister? There is someone here that did that... I cant find the picture readily
Yes, it's the same gear as the 60cc X-cub, awfully painted In yellow (the paint is still sticky in some places).
I'll will take away the yellow and red paint, do the mod for the canister and ground clearance and have it powder coated black in the factory where i work (we are producing stackers for material handling made of steel tubes and powder coated).

The ground clearance and bigger wheels will also help not to destroy a prop when testing the Stol limits of the plane :D

I will have a flexible header for the canister, i have all the parts ready to be soldered, i'm just missing a canister holder that i'll have on Friday.
Even though, I still think that it'll be too difficult to have a nice canister installation without modding the gear.

I'll keep you posted ;-)

Nick,

Off topic a little

I grew up in Juneau. Learned to fly crack in the late 70’s with Gary Fuller, Carl Marvin, my father, and others. Seeing your videos brought back a lot of memories.

I just bought the Timber off of EBAY mentioned earlier and am going with the DLE 55. More for my style of flying. I like to give my planes a solid workout. Hopefully it does come back post COVID. Was sorry to see it go. Anyway. Great videos. Thanks ant to others for all of the information here.

That is wonderful to hear! Sorry to say that Carl passed away a few years ago, we had many good memories together and I really miss his random phone calls to talk about model airplanes. I helped clean out his model airplane shed with his son and wowza there was a lot of stuff in there (still is!!!). I helped Carl cleaned it out while he was alive and I saw some white rag stuffed in the corner- I picked it up with a semi rusty pole, swung it over to Carl, jokingly said "you still need this?!?" His eyes got big, and said OH!! That's Rita's wedding dress! We laughed pretty hard- No joke, it was hers! They sent it to a cleaner and made it good as new HA HA HA. That was a good memory, I miss that man!
I have a dormant youtube channel for the club "Gastineau Aeromodelers" Here's a clip with him filming me about 10 years ago doing a low pass WOT with a Hobbico Twinstar (OS40LA's)

Blessings,
-Nick

Rebuilding my Timber (New fuselage) powered by an RCGS 60cc, with the X-Cub LG (resprung for proper weight) and fitted with 7 in Airtop tundra tires. Due to being pulled from production I am having to scratch build a new windshield/hatch cover and source some sort of engine cowling possibly radial as I think that would look cool.
@Snoopy1 Lets do this! As mentioned before, The "Super Timmy" barge has landed in the US, and the planes will be delivered at Horizon Hobby tomorrow morning with an estimated ship date of this Thursday or Friday.

My LHS has one reserved for me from this first shipment!!! Wohooooooooooo EDIT: actually ended up ordering online due to shipping cost issues.

I'm going with (Edited):
DLE55RA w/ bowman ring, and VVRC ext throttle arm.
3" Center Bolt Carbon Spinner (Falcon Spinner will not fit the falcon 23X8 CF Prop!!!)
Falcon 23X8 CF Prop
XCub Sprung gear add on
Savox 2274 + 2270 rudder (used)
ProModeler DS305CLHV on the throttle.
PR 8.75" Bushwheels
Custom 3D Printed tail-wheel bracket on the stock tail gear w/2" wheel. Ask if you need one :)
TechAero IBEC
Booma PinFlag Switch
Two Pulse 2550 2S Batteries
Fiji 17 oz fuel tank

Futaba 18SZ w/R7014SB rx
I am interested in your 3D printed tailwheel setup. robertshowse@gmail.com please.

I'll send you an e-mail. I rarely printed this for anyone, just made the file so others can print it. The cleanup and prep took a while back then. I've since refined my slicer abilities and I'll see if I can do it again.

I was beginning to make a cowling in CAD for fun, but that has its own challenges for 3DPrinting a mold of that size. I had thoughts of using plaster of paris and using my own cowling as the mold form, but I could risk destroying my own cowl in the process. Overall, I believe it's achievable if it was worth my time. Shoot I even contemplated to silicone the outside of my cowl, using that mold to pour plaster into, wax that. then make the final mold with glass mats. Then I could recreate the timbers cowling and sell the cowls. All in the name of fun with hopes of getting my money back... but who wants an unpainted cowl? Hmm
