You are gonna over those 1258s. I'm lucky enough to own a 65 vyper with them in it. Awesome. They even make a very musical Humm.

What's your plan for sealing the firewall and motorbox? Epoxy and alcohol or other? Was reading that some folks spread straight 30min epoxy and heat with a covering gun which thins it and wicks into the wood. Also heard of painting with some type of speckle paint?

Yes, Ohio Av8tor used speckle paint in his famous 87" Extra build log... BUT, the firewall and motorbox come pre-sealed with lacquer, so it is not "required"

71" Slick (gas), 72" Extra, 74" Edge, all have a sealed motorbox and firewall.
