IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

Just saw that ACP system, I really like it. Will have to see about investing in that. Thank you for the link, I appreciate you.

Just got the power plant, and was working on installing the canisters. The fuselage is ready to be sheeted, except, I am waiting for Fuselage Side Support before I proceed with that step. Also for the landing gear. Once I get those two in, then I will be able to sheet the fuselage sides and then glue on the fin.

I always weigh the motor. This one says 10 pounds and 2 ounces. Could be that the scale is off, it is advertised to weigh 9 pounds and 15 ounces. I will re-weigh her again this evening on a different scale. Or, it could be that the weight advertised is with no sensor and no spark plugs. Does not matter!

I like to wrap the flex section with this silicon tape, it is rated to 500 degrees F.

I am using the comfort mounts, from KS, and the canisters are the KS 95 rear dump, with the 70 degrees bent stinger.

EDIT< I have reweighed it, and it does indeed weigh 9 pounds and 15 ounces. Just as advertised. i have a picture to prove it if anyone wants to see it.

Thank you Primo. I got the canisters mounted in. All i need to do is install the FSS, landing gear blind nuts, and a radio tray/battery tray, and then I will be able to sheet the fuselage sides. I will also start working on the tail wheel installation tomorrow.

I will drill some holes on the motor mount, to help reduce the weight. Hoping to get one to two ounces out.

Plenty of room around the canisters for air to circulate thru. The biggest advantage of using the Comfort mounts. However, a real PITA to install.

This was by far the easiest installation for me yet. This is the 5th time I install canisters with comfort mounts, and this was the easiest way. Especially since the fuselage sides are not sheeted yet. I made these "fillers" out of the 1/4" thick Finnish plywood, and this will provide support for the canister mounting plate.

Here is the blind nut on the opposite side. This will make for easy removal, if maintenance is required.

Here is my favorite, plenty of room for air to escape around the canisters. Tony did Good with this new design. Very canister friendly.
