IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

Just got the power plant, and was working on installing the canisters. The fuselage is ready to be sheeted, except, I am waiting for Fuselage Side Support before I proceed with that step. Also for the landing gear. Once I get those two in, then I will be able to sheet the fuselage sides and then glue on the fin.

I always weigh the motor. This one says 10 pounds and 2 ounces. Could be that the scale is off, it is advertised to weigh 9 pounds and 15 ounces. I will re-weigh her again this evening on a different scale. Or, it could be that the weight advertised is with no sensor and no spark plugs. Does not matter!

I like to wrap the flex section with this silicon tape, it is rated to 500 degrees F.

I am using the comfort mounts, from KS, and the canisters are the KS 95 rear dump, with the 70 degrees bent stinger.

Cam, that picture soes not look like it is the L version of the 200. It looks like the standard. It seems pretty lite for the standard though.

You guys are very observant. This is exactly what I thought, when I opened the box, and I immediately called. As you all know, there is a significant price difference between the two.

I was, let's say, surprised!

In any event, I was informed, this is a new version of the "L", that improves cooling, but look carefully, the fins are same dimensions as the standard, but they are about 1/2 the thickness, much much thinner, and for this, they state, it improves dissipating heat.

I have a DA 50 laying around, and so I put them both up next to each other, and this, you can see, how the DA 200 fin thickness is about 1/2 that of the DA 50 cylinder.

Wow that is really cool Cam. Never heard of this till now. I have to be honest, I never heard of any cooling issues with the original L version but if you can improve on it, that is great.

Hi Cam, looking Good Man!,,, especially that G10 material on the SWB motor mount extension:)

Once you get into bagging wings and other parts, its so easy and so many ways to accomplish it as well. The one key thing about bagging a wing and other items,,, the table top surface. It really needs to be clean, smooth and flat.
