    IMAC Written Call Sheets

Very nice. thanks for doing that hard work. I normally write it out so my wife can call for me but this makes it that much easier.

    My DA170

With the landing temps I routinely see 80-100F drop in peak temps to landing temps. So you are absolutely correct landing temps are useless unless your engine is showing 300+F on landing then you know you have a problem. Knowing engine temps I think is pretty critical to keeping an engine alive...

    My DA170

I started with a venom temp monitor that recorded minimum and peak temps. This year I upgraded to the new JR XG11 with telemetry. I purchased the temp monitor that is rated for 450F I believe. It is the higher temp version. You can see in the pic both my JR monitor (screwed to the head) and the...

    My DA170

I had this engine for 4 years. The majority of the flights were put on in 2011 and 2012. At the end of each season I removed the jugs for inspections only. Nothing cleaned up or changed. Just new gaskets. 2013 it was put in a new airframe but not flown very much. 2014 I pretty much flew it for...

    My DA170

Well since the wife and I are getting ready to finish our house to put on the market flying season for me is over. Part of my yearly inspection on my engines is removing the jugs to check the cylinders, pistons, bearings, etc. Just to make sure everything is good. My DA170 was purchased new in...

Horizon Hobby went above and beyond

So in April of this year I purchased a replacement cowl for my 3.1M Sukhoi. It has sat in the original box in my garage all year. Every now and then I thought about opening it up just to make sure it was ok but never did until last night. When I removed the lower cowl from the wrapping I noticed...

    DA 170 shakes

I thought I would update this thread. At NCFR finals over the weekend I looked a few planes that also had the 170. Most of them shook pretty similar to mine. There were 2 other Sukhoi's there with DA150s and a Dalton with the new DA150L. I was rather impressed with the power of the 150's. So...

    Show your IMAC Setup

I am flying a H9 3.1M Sukhoi. Running a DA170 on RE3's and 14" headers. Using a JR RG1131BPU receiver guided by a XG11. All servos are JR8911's even throttle. 2 Pulse 5000 mah lipo's. Ignition is controlled via a PowerBox Spark switch with a Fromeco 2600 mah li-ion battery. For props I have Mej...

    Wheel collar attachment

I find the center of the locking bolt for the collar and just drill a small pilot hole. Once I have just broken in slightly I will Loctite the collar bolt.

    DA 170 shakes

Thanks for all the help and ideas guys. I tried my 29/12N 3 blade today and it's hard to say but I think it may have been a little smoother. After the contest this weekend I think I will do some of the cross bracing as described and even see what I can do with the engine box. One thing I had to...

    DA 170 shakes

There was another post about beefing up the motor box. I think I will give that a try and see how that works. Keeping my fingers crossed on that idea.

    DA 170 shakes

There is a thread on the IMAC website forum about them with the 170's. I love the idea but it would require me to cut back the engine box. The engine bolts directly to the motor box and the hub is already out quite a bit.

I was trying to start a new thread on this however it gave me an error and erased the post. I really didn't want to rewrite everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzrGdMDdCsw And it ended up posting. Never mind on this thread.

    DA 170 shakes

Instead of continuing off topic on the other DA thread http://giantscalenews.com/forum/showthread.php?1011-DA-1-Customer-Service I figure I would continue on a new one. My 09 170 really shakes my plane in my opinion. There have been several vibration related repairs done already on a plane with...

Highly unlikely a servo or radio issue. The servos are JR 8911's on HV. The frame rate of the camera is not fast enough for the vibration to be picked up but the aileron tips vibration faster than the Hitec 7950 servo jidder videos that most have seen. However I am certain the servos are working...

Nope, that is high idle and not the 3 clicks I usually have for low idle for landing. 2 5000 pulse lipos into a JR power buss receiver with deans. Ignition is totally separate system using a 2600 mah Fromeco li-ion on a power box ignition kill. No velocity stack at all. Nothing attached to the...

It is hard to tell on the video that I took but you can see the aileron total defection but not the high rate of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLe5MJnTI9A&list=UUeBQhrRSEBC59xaKpttKgjw
