    Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi

I must have been looking in the wrong section, I found 25' rolls. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHW31&P=SM and 10M rolls. Now that is a lot of covering. http://www.hangar-9.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=HANU87810

    Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi

It is good news again. I looked last night for the 25' rolls at tower and horizon with no luck. However I paid a visit to my good friend Tom at TNTlanding gear and he had orange Monocote in a 25' roll. He is able to order me in a 24' roll of crème Monocote. He said the part number was not a...

Your Opinion-This is not a "Which radio is best" thread!!!

If you are going to JR go with the XG11. If possible get your hands on one to make sure you like it. The XG14 is also a nice radio with more channels but slightly less capable. It is a smaller radio with a good feel to it also. At the Toledo show I felt all the radios there and messed with...

    Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi

I started covering today and make a horrific discovery. One of the reasons I wanted to remove all the covering is to get rid of some of the covering joints that I had from some minor repairs over the summer. Well the covering is 6' and the fuse is 7' long. Totally negates the reason I stripped...

Your Opinion-This is not a "Which radio is best" thread!!!

Oh I agree 100% with changing recievers. I was able to sell all of mine but I can see where it is a big pill to swallow.

Your Opinion-This is not a "Which radio is best" thread!!!

I have been flying the JR DMSS XG11 for a season now. It is very similar to the JR 11X when it was the DSMX protocol. The 11X is extremely powerful for its price range. For instances you can set snap rates on each direction based on stick inputs. It will go to rates you program based on the...

Your Opinion-This is not a "Which radio is best" thread!!!

The Spektrum and JR brands are still very similar. I looked at the DX18 before I bought the 11X and personally I am glad I was able to put hands on it first.

    Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi

DA170. It was even sent back to them and nothing was found. I hear some are smooth and some are shakers. Maybe the later versions are better than the older that I have.

What smooth engine do you have now?

    Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi

After I corrected the wing incidence this plane flys great. However it was in need of some TLC from some shaken loose parts.

    Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi

Next on the list is to make a change in the canopy. The front brackets that hold the front of the canopy to the fuse was getting worn out. heavy wear on the top of the canopy where it vibrated on the cowl. So I removed the fiber bracket and built my own wood mounts that use screws like the rest...

    Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi

I tried to look for carbon fiber stringers that were 1/4X1/4 but no luck. At least easily found where I looked. So I used two 36" stringers and glued them together using titebond. I found with my experiment between titebond, gorilla glue, and welders the titebond had the strongest joint. So that...

    Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi

Next I found some slight looseness to the gear plate bolts. So I removed the balsa to tighten up the screws with blue Loctite. I was on the fence on what glue to use and even though I have found titebond glue to be the strongest I used hot glue so I could gain access in there again more easily...

    Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi

I decided to go another route for an engine for my Sukhoi. My hope is that the MVVS 175 is as smooth as I have been hearing. The current 170 that is on there now has just shaken this plane to much and enough damage has occurred. In order to prep for the new engine I figured I would go over a...

    Moving up to 100cc questions

My 100CC set up is JR 8711 servo's, 2 2300 Fromeco A123 packs and a JR DMSS power buss receiver. Since you have the Futaba SG14 2 recievers and a Fromeco wolverine switch would be my setup. I have personally seen the affects are ignition interference in the automotive world and had a DA ignition...

    Telemetry Usefullness

I am using JR DMSS equipment and use the telemetry. I monitor engine temps that allowed me to get my baffling for effective. I also like the receiver battery voltage information. That is more of a cool FYI for me and was surprised on the amount of voltage drop during some of the maneuvers.

    2-stroke oil,what works,what doesn't

I switched this Spring too, and I think I do notice a little more crap on the plane but I'm also half way through a 5 gallon jug that will make 95 gallons this year so maybe I'm just flying more!!!! I think I've only flown 20-25 gallons this year..  Sthil ultra at 50:1. The HP ultra for me...

    Flight modes for JR XG14

This will be a quick answer because of my lack of time at this moment and a video may be even better. But once you activate you stick position switch for throttle you go into the dual rate menu and assign a dual rate to activate at the throttle setting you need. But since you have different...
