    3DHS 70" Velox

+1. I have the same setup as Gyro on mine. It is the *perfect* electric setup for a Velox. The Velox comes out lighter and is very fun with this motor. Very fast in the air, violent, pop top machine. 6s5300 glacier 30c packs from buddyrc are what I run, and they are great. The ones I've seen...

    3DHS 70" Velox

Describing the Velox... It's perfect at crazy fast tumbling aerobatics like crankshafts and pop tops. And smooth as silk in harriers and low/slow close in 3d. It is extremely agile and easy to hover as a result. You can let the nose fall off of vertical farther than other planes, and still be...

    3DHS 70" Velox

Because many believe that Hacker is somewhat notorious for under-rating their motors - at least when they are used in a 3d application. Since we tend to be all over the place with throttle usage when flying 3d, many get away with overpropping / over-watting their motors. Since we don't tend to...

    3DHS 70" Velox

1100 including all but rx. Has 2 li-fe flight batts that are less than a year old. Has some nice vinyl on the wings too. Price may be a bit negotiable, not sure. He bought it from me at that price when I sold it to get your 87" SHP :)

    3DHS 70" Velox

I know someone with a red/white/blue EF 88" Extra for sale... If you can figure a way to get it from Arkansas to wherever you are you can have it at a great price. DLE-55 in it, HS 7955's all around I think.

The MF 4315-480 on 6s with a 15x8 or 16x7 are very popular combos. Good for about 1600-1750 watts. Also the EF Torque motor that is suggested on their site is a very nice motor and will also do about 1600-1750 watts with the same props. 85 amp ESC is a good match. Would also very much recommend...

    3DHS 87" Extra 300 SHP

I'm with Birk, wouldn't want it any lighter. Flies awesome in the 18.5 lb range.

    3DHS 87" Extra 300 SHP

mine is a tad over 18lb. That's with an EME 60 in it and 2x2s2200 li-fe packs powering everything (including ignition). Generally I've found that the high side number of 3dhs suggested weights is the low side of what you might actually get. I doubt you can get one of these down to 16lb. 18 is...

    3DHS 70" Velox

The 450 one limits you to running an 18x8 prop. Not at all bad on this plane either, but I like the flexibility of running either a 19x8 or 18x10 that the 425 kv gets you.

    3DHS 70" Velox

Nope, 425kv. You can just write that in the special notes field and Ken will do it for you. Me, GYRO, and a few others have this kv and love it.

    3DHS 70" Velox

good choice - would be my plan too. I think I'll only get the 56" AJ Laser though, for my next gas plane the upcoming 78/85 MXS from EF is it. VVRC 40 twin motor going on it most likely. Or maybe the new DA35, haven't decided just yet.

    3DHS 70" Velox

The problem with the dle-30 is that it starts to make this plane tend towards the heavier side, and the low/slow capabilities suffer a bit. On 6s4000 or 6s5000 (my preference) it's incredible with the right motor. The plane comes out pretty light, and the power and instant response of the...

    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

The problem has persisted for well over a year now, do you think all of those came from one single bad run? And do we know for absolute certain that it's fixed? From what I've seen over the last 9 years or so black Ultrakote seems to go through this about every 3 years. I used to do a fair bit...

Try the scorpion straps, I usually get mine from rcdude.com, I've never seen a failure with those. Lots of people sell em these days though. They are sort of rubberized and keep the battery very securely held.

Check out http://www.rcdude.com/ do a search for "6mm prop", they have 3 choices. They are also really fast shipping, and usually only charge 3-4 bucks for a small USPS package like that. Been a while since I ordered from them, but they were always reasonable. Great source for props too..

The new house is over in Maumelle, about 8-10 miles from the field we flew at. I work about 2/10 mile from the field we flew at though, me and a few friends fly there almost every friday during lunch when the weather is decent. Current house is on too busy of a street, plus no kids in the...

Wish I could have made it Blake, but I'm trying to move into a new house and won't be doing much flying at all until about the 2nd week of June. Packing and trips to a storage unit complex have consumed my weekends lately. :(

MEDIA BLITZ! (Fort Smith) Arkansas FLI

+1. I think that's what I liked the most, the airspace wasn't constantly full of planes, you were often able to have more space to yourself because of the 2 flight lines.

MEDIA BLITZ! (Fort Smith) Arkansas FLI

That was my favorite FLI that I have been to. Low key, laid back, and the sky wasn't constantly full of planes. It was easy to get some flights in and not feel crowded. It was definitely a fun day.
