Pilot 40% 330 Recover and Build

Ok, so I decided to go with the wing covering tonight. I can relax and sleep when I am no longer of this world. hee hee. I will more than likely get a few photos up tomorrow.... "AFTER" I go burn some gas in the 3w 70 twin powered Jtec Pitts.

    Hostetler Cessna 336 Skymaster

How right you are! I too have the same philosophy. And it may not be anything more than "you" yourself are just not ready. I will send no plane, (especially a new unproven airframe) into the wild blue yonder until I know I am 100% psyched for the flight. Beautiful plane by the way. Anxious to...

Pilot 40% 330 Recover and Build

Not much done the last couple of days. I wanted to get out and fly this morning. But the danged wind was howlin' too much to change anything. So I figured I would come home and do some more covering. Yeah, that happened. NOT.... I may try to start the wings tonight. Then again... relaxing and...

    Post your foamies you’re flying

Nice little thread. I didn't even know it existed. Well, all the better. I will add to it. Twisted Hobbies Edge 540. Very cool hunk of foam. Who'd have thunk you could have so much fun with something other than a "DUB"? The other Crack Lazer is my sons.

I've had many Pilot RC airframes. And though they are great quality and fly terrific, I think the reason I continue to be so loyal to Pilot is because of Tony and his team. They don't just build planes. They build relationships and family.

Pilot 40% 330 Recover and Build

Yes, very feasible. I mean, I could spend hours upon hours... cutting up rolls of covering by hand. For this project I would probably spend roughly 40 to 60 dollars for covering. And that in itself is really not bad considering. But all those loooooong hours of measuring, cutting, test fitting...

Well thank you very much. I do appreciate the compliment. Do I have a secret? Why, yes I do! As a matter of fact, it is actually quite simple. Tony Tan pilot-rc@139.com

A bit more covering on the big 330 tonight. Alas, I just don't have enough steam, (or time) to get the upper and lower green covering on the fuse tonight. But I did get the left side vertical fin... And I managed to get the black stripe layed down... Tomorrow I will try really hard to get the...

Pilot 40% 330 Recover and Build

Thanks guys. It is coming along.., not real quick, but steady all the same. To answer your questions on how "I" do it, is not a problem. I probably defer from the way others do it. But I have found that I have my own method and it works for me. I'll try to explain my approach and what I do...

Half way there. I might not do the left side. Might leave it... then I can call it "Two Face"! Lol. Here we go... right side done. Still have to do the left side. More to come later.

I am not sure it will be full steam ahead. I do what I can, when I can. Fortunately I have had the past two weekends off. Otherwise, I would not have made it this far yet. I expect I won't be seeing too many more weekends off until the end of this year. Just the way work goes. Then again...

Pilot 40% 330 Recover and Build

I actually got quite a bit accomplished on the 330 the last couple of days. Besides getting the 157 reed housing updated, I test fit the headers and canisters inside the fuse. I think they are going to work great. I also got busy on that covering. Lots to do, but slowly getting there. Before I...
