The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

The weekend is here and I am hard at it. I have so many projects it's tough keeping them all lined out. But one gorgeous redhead will always get my attention. I ordered a new Reed housing for the 157. The original I ordered was the previous model. It had no bolt recesses in it so it was...

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

Very disheartening no doubt. I talked with Gerhard today. He mentioned in all the years he attended the Nall representing 3W, He remembers never a time the weather has been this vicious and sever. Oh sure, a thunderstorm is expected when the event comes around. But not like this. My heart goes...

Have friend with a DLE 222 twisting a Falcon 33x11w @ 6100. My 212cs is turning the same prop at the same RPM.Throttle response lightening quick. My son's 222 turns a Falcon 32x12 at just under 5900. My dub 170 is annihilating a Falcon 32x11 at around 6150ish. Probably going to have to go to a...

My son and I made it a four cylinder day today. Not as in two planes and four cylinders. More like two planes and four cylinders "each". My son and his PU....I....I, I mean PAU 126" Edge with DLE 222. He went through it a couple of days ago because it was just not running like it used to. We...

I have been using the chrome steel spacers from D & B for quite some time. I even paint them to match or offset the color if I am so inclined. Pretty inexpensive compared to store bought standoffs. And the nicest thing about them is that you can get thicknesses from 1/8" all the way up to 1".

Pilot 40% 330 Recover and Build

A shorter day than usual today allowed for a little time on the 330. Last night I did the measuring and reset the firewall to "0" down thrust and about 1.25 degrees right thrust. I had high hopes it would be the right amount. Once in place with epoxy and retaining bolts, I clamped it into...

Thank you Kelly, I am not sure about the SUPA STAR thingy, but I do like to cover. I just may be getting a little better over the years. LOL That is definitely a possibility. Silver between the black and the white looks awesome too.(Fuse) Or maybe a thin silver stripe separating the green and...

Came home tonight and spent a couple hours with the left stab/elevator. I guess every little bit counts right? I think I am just going to really like this scheme.

I promise, it will be in this lifetime. At the end maybe, but this one for sure. Lol. Trying to do some catch up and will be back on this full steam soon. Just like Kelly said, I gotta feel it to make progress. Just have not felt the love for much lately. Lol

No? Huh! I've had it since new outta the box '15. I maidened it originally with a GP176 EVO in February of that year. Shortly thereafter I swapped the 176 for the beast "Dub" 170. Love this plane for deals.

Oh my! I had a Bob Dively Super Stearman but never got to finish it. Kids came first. Mine was the 1/3rd scale. I believe the top wing was like 112 or 116 inch. Been too many moons ago. What is the wing span of the 1/4 scale? And I know I'm going to ask, so might as well get the question out of...

Pilot 40% 330 Recover and Build

Though I have never owned one myself, my friend has two of them. The 47%, 180 inch wingspan and the 107" like you are wanting. I have flown both of them. Both of them fly very well. It would be very difficult to go wrong with one of the pilot RC decathlons. I actually have been contemplating...
