Scale Nelitz 1/3 scale Cub build

I started looking at at the 7x14 mini lathe and ended up buying a 9"x19", wished I would bought a bigger lathe with cross feed. My 9x19 does everything I want it too just get tired of cross feeding manually. You will spend more money on tooling than the lathe. Once you have it for a while you...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

This is the current layout of the circuit boards. The switches will be hard wired to the main board as the JST plugs are removed. The RF board will be hard wired with plugs on the main board side. The original charger board and the new LIPO balance charger boards are there as well. The...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

The screen has limited view from the rear access cover. The switches are located on the top of the transmitter. I will adjust the position once the wiring begins, longer paddles inside. The current layout is same as the Taranis, SA on the lower left side.

The Taranis gimbals fit into the case holes, a little filing was required to get them to sit flush. I had to file the trim tab slots wider to fit the trim buttons in. The battery level meter is calibrated to 8.4 volts and will be functional. The original power switch will be retained. My...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

There were three boxes of transmitters at the auction, pretty sure each box had at least one Kraft. There was little interest in many of them, Kraft were top of the line when I stared flying. Boy how things have changed! I'll post some photos later.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

It's too cold to work outside on shed so I started stuffing the internals of a Taranis XD9 into a Futaba FG series case. Bought a box of old transmitters at an auction last week for $15.00. Gave a Kraft single stick to a a friend, keep two Futaba FG series and pitched the rest. Not as much...

    IMAC Scratch build Laser 200

I use plain carbon steel wire, not nichrome. NiChrome has higher resistance and requires higher voltage.

    IMAC Scratch build Laser 200

My 56" bow runs at 7 amps. I use .025" carbon steel mig wire, never tried nichrome but would like to some day. I cut white 1# and pink, green blue 2# foam the same wire and power supply. If i use a shorter bow I add additional mig wire to the circuit to make up for lower resistance. All of...

    IMAC Scratch build Laser 200

I use a low voltage lighting transformer for my bow now, 14 VAC, in the past I used my car battery. Both work fine.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

While the postman didn't bring it, I scored this pile of balsa blocks for $20 at the MARC auction this morning. Most of the blocks are just over 4' long. I think I'm set for a while
