Nice to see I won't be the only one schlepping a trailer to and from our field with 'extra large' aircraft inside ;-)

Yep you're right, I seen where you have that 50% Bill Hempel Challenger on order. I'm looking forward to seeing you get that in the air.

Well I've started. I completely vacuumed and use the air hose to clean the shop. Picked up some tack clothe on the way home today and cleaned all the wood. I have an idea of a scheme in my head but I am no good at drawing so I just have to wing it. I guess we'll see how it goes. I have covered numerous planes with monokote years ago but this one I am going to use Ultracote. I hope I don't regret it.

Guys, jump all over the sanding table build! You won't believe the difference it makes. It's really simple to build, once you gather the materials, you can build it in an afternoon. I wasn't sure how it would work when I started the thread, but I am amazed every time I use it. The only thing I would do differently is make it a little bit bigger, the fan I used would handle the extra size no problem. I'll be building another one soon, this one much lower and larger, probably 4' x 8' for building boats on.

Great builds going on here, keep up the good work!

Spats, I use ultracote to cover and I find that it is a lot easier to use than monokote. I'm looking forward to seeing the scheme you are going to use.

Chief I seen your build thread on your table and it is excellent. I was going to do something very similar to what you built and make mine 3'X8'. I have a furnace motor that I'm going to use on my sanding table. I think I will get mine built before I do all the final sanding on my plane prior to covering it. I did some sanding on the leading and trailing edges and that balsa dust was getting to me, plus I had a mask on. I have to get some stuff for my trailer so maybe I will try and build mine this weekend.

Okay I need to get going on picking what engine I'm going to use. I would like to go with a DA120, but man they are a lot of money. I have been thinking that it will either be a DA100 or a DLE120. We had a club meeting last night and one of the members asked if I was going to run mufflers or cans and I told him mufflers. He recommended I should run cans, so now that has got me thinking about putting cans on it, and now is the time to do it before I get the belly pan glued on. You guy's that are running cans, do you have any opinions one way or the other?

I don't run cans much now, but when I did I had the best luck with pro-flows. Too bad if the force you to run the cans though. The DLE120 with the Teflon down tubes is more quiet than most full throttle glow planes with the right prop. Couple that with a huge airplane that absorbs sound and vibration and it's even better.
