I personally don't think a picture on the front is needed. But I will go with whatever you come up with!
Ok...that will work also. I may be able to have Bob eliminate or add to each persons likings. Personally now that I think about it, maybe the one on the front is not needed. Whatever you guys want is perfect with me.:way_to_go:
 
I decided to go another route for an engine for my Sukhoi. My hope is that the MVVS 175 is as smooth as I have been hearing. The current 170 that is on there now has just shaken this plane to much and enough damage has occurred. In order to prep for the new engine I figured I would go over a few things this winter. For one the bottom orange covering needs attention. When removing the cover I found a few stringers that were loose. So I decided to replace and reglue those also. After using a little heat all the stringers were removed and I cleaned up the slots. Another thing I noticed is you can move the tail side to side. Not much but very noticeable. I don't know if it affects flight or not but I decided to correct that. 1/4 X 1/4 balsa strips in an X brace pattern fixed that. Very ridged now. 20141117_210640.jpg 20141117_210554.jpg

Next I found some slight looseness to the gear plate bolts. So I removed the balsa to tighten up the screws with blue Loctite. I was on the fence on what glue to use and even though I have found titebond glue to be the strongest I used hot glue so I could gain access in there again more easily if I had to.

I tried to look for carbon fiber stringers that were 1/4X1/4 but no luck. At least easily found where I looked. So I used two 36" stringers and glued them together using titebond. I found with my experiment between titebond, gorilla glue, and welders the titebond had the strongest joint. So that was used to bond the two sections together to make a 72" stringer. I also cut the two ends on a long diagonal to give a larger glue joint area. With the intent of possible repairs in the future I used hot glue to bond the stringers to the fuse. Since the covering has a hard time staying put around the pipe tune using pipes I also doubled up the balsa stringers in the area of the opening. Im hoping this will give the covering more to adhere to and not come off as easily.

So I removed the fiber bracket and built my own wood mounts that use screws like the rest of the canopy. I had to slot the fuse opening for the new set up. I also had to cut the cowling opening more.

You have been busy! My sukhoi flies so good I am afraid to even touch it.

After I corrected the wing incidence this plane flys great. However it was in need of some TLC from some shaken loose parts.
YA mine needs a little attention to a couple spots on the covering. I had a shaker of a motor in a different 40%er. It's crazy how smooth a smooth one will run!

James...you say you're going with the MVVS 175. What motor did you have on it that shook it apart so badly?
